Gilbert Marine was founded in France in 1972, GibSea at the time being one of the lines they built. As Gibsea yachts became more and more popular they became a brand in their own right and were later taken over by Dufour Yachts in 1998.
The Gibsea 96 was a well-thought-out design, built between 1984-87 with the premise of a boat that would sail well but have the volume below to accommodate family or crew in comfort.
